I've also provided some work that I've done in the past, as well as some information about the companies and organizations that I have worked closely with in my experiences. Please contact me should you have any questions or inquiries. Thank you again.

I am currently awaiting graduation at The College of New Jersey in December 2009, majoring in Communications and minoring in Professional Writing. While attending school, I am an Assistant Manager at Forever21, Inc. in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, where I've been employed for almost two years. After graduation, I plan on working in a corporate position with a successful company helping shape and grow the company and it's employees. I also have interest in party planning and working with children.

My Experiences

Educational Experiences

I have been blessed to be able to attend The College of New Jersey; a wonderful college from where I am soon graduating with my bachelor's degree in Communications, minoring in Professional Writing. In high school I knew I was going to be the first person in my family to go to college, but I did not know it would be an experience like this one! During these years I've met some of my closest friends, lost my father and a close friend, yet have still been able to stay focused and be successful. Some classes I have taken include:

Public Speaking in Business and Government
Organization & Leadership
Small Group Communication
Interpersonal Communication
Intercultural Communication

I have also taken general classes in film, art, religion, Spanish, psychology, literature, creative writing and more. College surely has been a rewarding journey that I will always remember.

Before I attended The College of New Jersey, I graduated in the top 5% of my graduating class at Plainfield High School. During high school, I participated in many programs including:

National Honors Society
Future Business Leaders of America (Treasurer)
The College Preparatory Program
Help Save Lives (Vice President)

High school was also very rewarding because I was able to learn a lot of lessons that have shaped me into the person that I am today. I have many role models from high school, including J.T. Gabriel and Jamaal Johnson. These people helped me see the person I am and that I was good enough to be successful in college.

Work Experiences

Both fortunately and unfortunately, I have had to work since I was a freshman in high school. The fortunate part of it is that I've gained a lot of experience in the workforce, and have held different positions that all add up and create the strong work ethic I have now. Currently, I am employed as a full time Assistant Manager at Forever 21, Inc. at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. There I have been able to strengthen my management skills as well as balance a full time school schedule.

I received my first "management" type position at Rita's Water Ice, Inc. in Scotch Plains, NJ when I was a Senior in high school. I was made one of a few key holders, where I closed the store with another employee. It wasn't exactly management, but at my young age I took it as a sign that I was seen as responsible and of good character.

The first job I had, which changed my life, was when I was 14 at the Boys and Girl's Clubs of Union County: Plainfield Clubhouse, where I started as a part of the Front Desk staff. Since then, I've held that position, camp and after school counselor, and finally Teen Coordinator. It was this organization that changed my life the most. I met one of my closest friends, as well as a very good friend/mentor who helped shape me into the person I am today. I owe a lot of my character and accomplishments to Paul Casey, who is still with the organization.

I had other little jobs in between that also helped my experience become as strong as it is, including The Park Express Laundromat, A&P Food Store, Precious Steps Daycare and Express clothing store.

Please take a look at my resume for a more brief description of my experiences and contact information.

My Interests

My main interest is writing of all sorts. I enjoy writing both academically and leisurely, including research and poetry. I have a passion for words and the art of making them flow. I enjoy reading also, which strengthens my abilities and vocabulary. A dream job of mine would be writing speeches for CEO's and Presidents of companies. Basically any task that allows me to write is something that I enjoy.

I also love children and working with organizations that involve children. I believe that relationships made during the years of childhood and early adulthood are those that shape the minds and actions of young people. I want to be a mentor and leader for all those who are growing and have the potential to succeed in life. This is why the Boys and Girl's Club is a very important place in my heart, and one where I was able to build relationships as I grew. I would like to give that back to the younger generation as I have received it.

I've picked up a new interest in party planning in the last year of college that I would like to pursue further. I am very organized and one for details, and feel I would be great for wedding a party planning. Unfortunately I do not have the time to work with a party planning company while in school and work right now, but it is definitely something that peaks my interest.

Past Works

I have created many works while studying the fields of English, Journalism, Communications and Professional Writing in school. I have conducted many research experiments and analyzed many topics and situations. One example is an experiment I conducted pursuing the link between race and economic status on the level of education in a particular city. Here I researched education levels of students from different cities, their economic statuses compared them to race.

I have also written many works based on terminology and critiques, such as these examples. The first is an analysis of the art of sound in the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The second is an experiment done where I did not watch television for three days, and the effects and functions it served.

Another topic I researched was the topic of Trying Juveniles as Adults in court, and the coverage the topic received in newspapers across the country, which was then linked to the Community Structure Approach in Communications. Here we coded articles either favorable, unfavorable or neutral to the topic and generated conclusions of how the topic is perceived throughout the country.

I have also explored the topic of Alternative Energy, and the benefits of weaning the country off of foreign oil dependency. Here is the power point presentation we presented on the topic.

These assignments, and many more, have helped improve my research, analyzing, and writing skills while in school. Since I love to write, it was very enjoyable for me to complete these assignments, as well as others in work and school. I pride myself in my credibility and abilities while writing works such as these.
